We established in 1976, initially as an estate agent. It wasn’t until 1995 that we became property auctioneers. When our doors first opened as an auction house, it gave people another option. A way that they could unburden themselves of the stress of selling and still walk away with a fair value for their home. All this was possible with the speed and certainty of sale through the traditional auction platform.

Since then, our services and technology have expanded, and we now work in both commercial and residential spaces. We can list anything from offices to land with great success.

Although we still offer traditional auctions where the sale completes within 7-28 days, we also now offer the modern method of auction. This works identical to its traditional counterpart, but it gives 28 days to exchange contracts and 56 days to complete the sale entirely. By allowing buyers more time to complete, modern method of action broadens the market to both potential first-time buyers and mortgage purchasers.

A modern approach

Throughout the lockdowns of 2020 and 2021, we had to adapt. Although some of our auctions were held online before, all of them had to follow suit during the lockdown period. During our first year of online auctions, we had a success rate of over 90%. We had similar results in 2021 during partial lockdown constraints.

The success shown by combining our experience with modern technology is the reason that we are keeping all auctions online for the foreseeable future. The benefit of online auctions to the seller is that it generates interest from potential buyers from a wider audience as interested parties no longer need to be local to the auction house or travel to attend auction days. Whilst a buyer now has the convenience of being able to bid remotely from their sofa, workplace or even from a deck chair on their holiday!
