The World Cup is finally over and what a tournament it has been. Whilst ‘it didn’t come home’, England almost went all the way, and the players did the country proud. Everyone was outstanding and their performances managed to bring the country together, united in support of the national team.

One of the standout performers for England was undoubtedly right back, Kieron Tripper, who capped it off with a beautiful free kick in the semi final against Croatia, putting him in an elite trio alongside Sir Bobby Charlton and Gary Lineker. He well and truly put his home town of Bury on the map. So much so that he will be awarded the freedom of Bury for his heroics at the World Cup.

Bury is a traditional northern mill town that thrived during the industrial revolution, manufacturing paper and textiles. In recent times, Bury has become a popular destination for both home-owners and investors alike. Demand for properties is high, which is evident from the strong rental returns and typically higher property values than its neighbouring towns.

The rise in the number of people wanting to live in Manchester means that there have been more people relocating from the capital to Manchester than the other way around. Folk are opting for a less stressful way of life and want more ‘bang for their buck’. Property prices are still relatively low in Bury compared to the city. Coupled with its strong transport links, this makes Bury an ideal location for both home-owners and investors.

According to Rightmove, last year terraced properties accounted for the majority of property sales in Bury, of which there is no shortage. Of these, 2 and 3 bedroomed properties are the most favoured with landlords. Recently at auction, there has been strong interest in properties in the BL8 and BL9 postcodes areas.

Sharpes Auctions has just listed a property that would be ideal for first time buyers or property investors. This two bed terraced has a guide price of just £35,000 to £40,000.  Radcliffe Auction Property
